A Brief History
The Elebert School of Irish Dancing was founded 6 years ago in Rivervalley, Swords, Co. Dublin and now holds classes in Drumcondra, Dublin 2, and Paris, France.
Denise Elebert is a teacher and an adjudicator (TCRG and ADCRG) registered with An Coimisiun Le Rince Gaelacha.
Denise comes from a strong Irish dancing background – her mother, Edda was All-Ireland Champion under 16, while her Father Patrick was an avid ceili dancer and one of the first pupils of the renowned Mat O’Maoileidigh. Denise started her dancing career with her Mother’s former teacher, the great Harry McCaffrey and under his guidance and coaching by her dad, was three times All Ireland Champion under 11, 13 and 16.
Whilst obtaining traditional basics with Harry and also inheriting his well known dancing style, she also discovered enjoyment together with discipline. At the age of 16 Denise changed teachers and attended Inis Ealga, and under the tutelage of Mat O’Maoileidigh, and the first class and distinguished Marie Duffy, Denise thrived on the discipline and embraced the Inis Ealga style and having completed her restyling period, by under 19, she became Leinster Champion, runner up in the All Ireland and third place in the World Championships!
Denise’s belief that marrying the two styles to her own unique method, has helped her classes develop greatly and she is taking immense pleasure in seeing her pupils progress and shine both personally and competitively.
